Dr. Pampinella, owner of P&G Clinical Services, PLLC, recognized early in her career the lack of accessible mental health services for individuals with financial limitations or who were uninsured. In response, she introduced a sliding scale fee structure based on family size and income.

As time went on, a Master’s Level Intern from Gardner-Webb University, completing her internship at P&G, identified another gap: individuals who were uninsured or did not qualify for the sliding scale due to unemployment or undocumented status, which prevented them from accessing affordable care.

Dr. Pampinella and her intern also observed that some parents were hindering their children's therapeutic progress because they themselves needed mental health services but could not afford them or did not qualify for the sliding scale.

After months of brainstorming on how to expand access to mental health services for the entire community, the “Future Matters” Foundation was founded.
